How do I book an appointment? To get in touch to arrange an initial assessment appointment, you can either use the contact form, or send an email to megan@headsinherts.co.uk. We will then be in touch to arrange a brief initial call for free to discuss arranging a full initial assessment session.
Do I need a GP referral? You do not need a GP referral to be seen by Heads in Herts. You can self-refer directly to us by completing our contact form, or by emailing megan@headsinherts.co.uk
Where are you based? We are a Clinical Psychologist practice based in Hertfordshire, just North of London. However, we can also offer remote, online appointments to clients across the UK. We offer face to face assessments and therapy sessions from our St Albans Base. We work from the lovely rooms at St Albans Rooms which offer a range of modern, comfortable therapy spaces which are a short walk from St Albans City train station, or there is ample parking available locally.
What are your fees? For a 90 minute initial assessment session we charge £150 for an online appointment, or £185 for a face-to-face appointment. Following an initial assessment, therapy appointments are charged at £100 for an online appointment, or £125 for a face-to-face appointment. Professional CBT supervision is offered remotely and is charged at £100 per session.
What is your cancellation policy? Appointments cancelled within 48 hours will be charged 50% of the fee. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged 100% of the fee.
Are our sessions confidential? The content of our sessions remains confidential which means that I will not tell anybody else what we talk about, including family members, without your prior consent. The exception to think is if I am worried about your own, or somebody else's safety. In these instances I am required to share this information with others to keep you safe. This may include, but is not limited to, family members, GPs, social workers, schools, or in extreme cases emergency services. What happens to my data? The data we collect about our patients is stored securely using an encrypted cloud service which offers high levels of security as is compliant with GDPR. All electronic devices used to access personal information are also password protected. We keep the majority of personal data for 7 years after our last contact, as per the British Psychological Society guidelines. In some cases it may be necessary to keep data for longer periods of time to fulfil any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, including if a complaint is raised. What is your privacy policy? Our contact details: Name of data controller: Dr Megan Reay Email: megan@headsinherts.co.uk Website: www.headsinherts.co.uk We currently collect and process the following information: •Personal identifiers and characteristics (name, date of birth, and contact details) •Emergency contact details (name and contact details for parents, carer, or partner) •GP details •If relevant, contact information for other professionals involved in your care (including: name and contact details for school, social worker, NHS professionals, other private professionals etc.) •Technical data from our website (including IP address and information about how you use our website) How we get the personal information and why we have it: Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you through our contact form, telephone, email or during online or face to face appointments. We may also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources: •Family members •Schools •Employers •Social care •Other health professionals (NHS or private) •Technical data including website analytics are collected automatically by Wix using cookies. You can adjust your browser settings to change your cookies settings. If we receive information from any third party source, including but not limited to the above list, we will inform you that we have received this information and it will be stored securely with the rest of the information you have provided to us directly. Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information is that we have a legitimate interest. It is necessary collect this personal data as part of our legitimate interest for the following reasons: •For the purposes of treatment, including liaison with yourself, other professionals and family members involved in the network if appropriate and with consent as per confidentiality policy. •For the purposes of safety to enable us to appropriately respond to any risks to self or others that become apparent in the work. •To comply with any legal obligations •Technical data is collected to provide analytics to improve our website, marketing and other services. Who is personal information shared with? As per our confidentiality policy, your personal data, including the things shared within sessions, will not be shared with others except in one of two situations. These are: 1.If there is reason to believe that yourself or somebody else is in danger. In this situation the necessary information will be shared to whomever is required to try to reduce the likelihood of harm. Wherever possible, this will be discussed together before information is shared. This may include, but is not limited to: family members; GPs; school / employer; social care; other health professionals (NHS or private); emergency services (ambulance, fire or police) 2.As part of clinical supervision. All HCPC registered clinical psychologists are required to access regular clinical supervision with another HCPC registered clinical psychologist. This is to improve the quality of the care provided. I receive clinical supervision every 4-6 weeks where I discuss the clients I am working with. As part of my supervision, some limited personal information will be shared including names and themes of our sessions. How we store your personal information: Your information is securely using an encrypted cloud service which offers high levels of security as is compliant with GDPR. All electronic devices used to access personal information are also password protected. Any information received in paper format (e.g. letters or reports) will be scanned and uploaded to the secure cloud service. The original paper copy with then be stored in a locked filing cabinet or shredded. Any letters or reports sent by Heads in Herts will clearly be marked as “private and confidential”. We keep the majority of personal data for 7 years after our last contact, as per the British Psychological Society guidelines. In some cases it may be necessary to keep data for longer periods of time to fulfil any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, including if a complaint is raised. We will then dispose your information by removing it from the secure cloud service, and shredding any paper letters or reports. Under data protection law, you have rights including: •Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. •Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete. •Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances. •Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances. •Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances. •Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances. You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we will endeavour to respond within one month.
